Agrimin Ltd. knows it is important to ensure that the business is sustainable at all levels of production. Ensuring that the business is aiding in environmental protection, economic success and local / community support is a key part of sustainability.
Environmental
Agrimin uses many different techniques and methods to ensure that the company is as environmentally friendly as possible.
In 2016, Agrimin installed a biomass boiler. This is used to generate the heat that is required for the manufacturing process of the boluses. This ensures that no additional electricity is used. This also reduces the annual carbon dioxide output.
Agrimin has also carried out the installation of LED Lights throughout the warehouse, manufacturing building and the toilets. These are all on timers to ensure that they use the minimum amount of electricity and they automatically switch off when there has not been movement within the buildings for a set amount of time. This, like the biomass boiler, ensures that there is a reduction in the company’s annual carbon dioxide output.
Agrimin has recently undergone some work within the warehouse and has installed two machines which compresses and bales waste cardboard and plastic. This aids in easier transportation, which therefore reduce emissions from the haulage vehicles.
Local / Community
Agrimin works hard to ensure that the business benefits, and works, with the local community. This is achieved in many different ways.
The business regularly holds raffles, from which all the money gets donated to local charities and causes. Agrimin also donates money through sponsorship.
Agrimin hold educational evenings and demonstrations, teaching farmers on the importance of trace elements in livestock. This ensures that the farmers in the area are knowledgeable and can achieve maximum output from their livestock.
Agrimin also sponsor the sheep and cattle scanning community by running several campaigns by providing them with free fleeces and scanning cards.
Agrimin ensure that its staff receive adequate training and qualifications when working onsite.
Economic
Agrimin like to pride themselves in ensuring that farmers are receiving a cost-effective solution to trace element shortfalls, by providing sustained and controlled release of trace elements over a given period of time. This saves on labour costs and supplementation costs. There are two ranges to aid in different systems and different economic situations. The two different product ranges under the Agrimin umbrella are the ALL-TRACE® range and the SMARTRACE® range.
